Human beings also suffer life threatening diseases due to the consumption of fruit and vegetables, dairy products, etc. Maa Ganga tired in the last lap of our journey, where the appearance is so dark, toxic, and turbid, pale gasping for its last breath before merging into its final destination.

As it flows through the plain lands of many different states of India, hither and thither showing its ferocious form and draining many villages during the flood period, which shows its immense merciless nature as well, the man made dams are broken in a matter of a few seconds, showing her immense intensity in a very revengeful mood.

Flowing numbly through Jharkhand and Bihar, ultimately reaching West Bengal in a hurry, fertilizing the lands, depositing precious mineral ores, giving rise to fertile delta plains and alluvial soil, which becomes a boon for the farmers, and it happens to be a thriving ecosystem for many aquatic and terrestrial animals, mammals, insects, reptiles, etc.

Ultimately, it reaches Ganga Sagar to calmly cool down in the lap of its ultimate savior, the Bay of Bengal, thus culminating this epic journey, thriving and thrusting with force and pressure at some places. In some places, the underlying currents are huge, but the upper layer gives off a pacifying effect that is hard to measure. Thus, it’s high time if we don’t save this divine river; we are sure to go extinct anytime soon.

Crossing many states, washing people’s sins, and also giving people a lifeline in many countless ways. The mighty Maa Ganga also brought fertile soil and minerals with her that accumulated in the form of deltas, which are the best land for agriculture. However, there is a very huge question: is Mother Ganga getting respect back from humans?

According to me, Mother Ganga is not getting the respect that is required of her, and she is getting more and more polluted day by day. All this is done by no one other than humans. I don’t count all those flowers and leaves besides Ganga that are used for doing Deepdaan as pollution because they are all eco-friendly and will decompose by themselves and create compost.

But the thing we should be concerned about is the plastics, sewage, and toxic effluents that are being discharged into the sacred river, and the river gets very badly polluted. Especially in Kanpur, where toxic industrial waste is released from the leather industries, if the water is picked up in hands, the skin gets rashes, then starts to itch and stink. There are also pieces of animal fat that float in the water of Maa Ganga.

So isn’t it our responsibility to clean and take care of Maa Ganga? As it is said by many scientists, Maa Ganga will disappear in 2035 as the Gaumukh glacier that gives Maa Ganga life is getting smaller in size, as Ganga is the lifeline of so many thousand people and also a life giving mother that is now getting polluted just because of our negligence.

Also, according to Kalki Puran, Maa Ganga will disappear upon Lord Vishnu ji’s Kalki avatar’s arrival, so this also marks another thing: it’s not too far that this Kaliyug’s going to end in just a few years. Thus, all these things point only to the fact that the end of mankind is not too far away, so it must be our duty to save and protect her, as we are already too late to do all this, but we can still give it one more try…
