Ram- The Maryada Purushottam (Part-2)

Just after a few days the time came for Ram to become a king by performing a ceremony named ‘Raj Tilak’ and start ruling; but just before the beginning of the Raj Tilak, Kaikeyi who was the third queen of Dashratha and mother of Bharat reminded Dashrath that once he promised to full fill her any one whish she will ask in her life; Dashrat agreed and asked what does Kaikeyi want then she says ‘make Bharat the king of Ayodhya and send Ram for a 14 year exile to the forest’ Dashrat had no choice and had to fullfill her wish.

He calls Ram and asks him to go for an exile and starts weeping Rama consoled him and said that he is ready to go for an exile; hearing this Lakshman came with his bow and said ‘ O Raghupati I will also follow and accompany you’.

Rama goes to his mother Kaushalya and tells her that he is going on a 14-year long exile hearing these words from Raghava’s mouth she falls on the ground and dolorously starts weeping Rama consoles her.

Sita Ma comes from the ‘Rang Mahal’ asks Shri Ram what has happened he explains her everything.

Sita says, ‘Shri Raghava you are my lord and god so it is my duty to follow your footsetps and I will also go on the exile with you’.

Rama again and again persuades and pressurises Sita not to accompany him in the forest and live in the palace with comfort but she becomes extremely depressed of just even thinking living without Shri Ram and falls onto his feet and starts crying and starts saying ‘I am going to drink poison and die if you leave me alone here it will be much better for me and you will not be able to see me alive upon your return’.

Rama agrees to take her to the forest and says ‘ O Priya Sita I will not even accept heaven without you’.

Then they begin their journey to the forest Bharat arrives and sees Lakshman and Ram missing he asks Kaikeyi what has happened she narrated him everything upon hearing this he became both sad and angry upon his mother then he says ‘ Ma what disaster you have created how can you do such cruel deed?’.

Kaikeyi was stunned and realizes what she has done then she fells ashamed of herself.

Bharat goes behind Ram and when he finds him in the forest Bharat holds Ramas feet with his hands then asks him to return back to Ayodhya but Rama hugs and consoles him and reminds the promise he made to his father that he will go on a 14 year long exile.

Bharat asks Ram to commit that he will return back to Ayodhya after 14 years only Rama assures him and says yes; Bharat and Shatrugan were unable to live in Ayodhya due to the absence of Ramas presence and they start living without comfort in Chitrakoot and rule as a king by living inside a cave.

After ten years of wandering from forest to forest and living in hardships they finally arrive in a forest named ‘Panch Vati’ which was fully occupied by Demons who were slayed by Rama and Lakshmana.

One day they encounter Demoness ‘Shurpnakha’ who is the sister of Ravan; she sees Ram and gets attracted to him and asks him to marry her he says no and when Shurpnakha feels rejected and starts threatening Sita and tries to attack her in return Lakshman cuts her nose and ears she runs back to Lanka and tells demon king Ravana and explains him the whole scenario and Shurpnakha also tells Ravan that how much beautiful Ma Sita was.
